Episode 5

The girls returned back to the hostel a bit later than their usual time, Bimpe indisposed state was behind that.

"Girl watin be this na? Are you still a baby? Benita said angrily as soon as they got to the room before been seen by anyone.

"Benny relax now, don't shout at this girl, remember she just got disvirgined, it's her first time and it could be distabilizing. You don forget your own time too?" JK replied Benita petting weeping Bimpe who couldn't still believe she had lost her virginity.

"Don't worry my dear, you will get used to it. Tell me didn't you enjoy it?" Shola who was making Bimpe's bed for her teased.

Benita switched off the light in their room and made to sleep after successfully making Bimpe sleep. The four being roommates was the work of Joke being the hostel rep.

Bimpe now really  had a different view about life.

"I really want you to brazen up with this attitude of yours" Joke winked Bimpe during lunch.

The session was gradually moving and now Joke was preparing for her SSCE, but that didn't stop her from sneaking out at night. She was intelligent and she didn't see a need to study hard "only dummies read during exams. You prepare for battle not on the battlefield" advised the crew.

"You must become something better before I leave this school" Joke cupped Bimpe's cheek in her hand
"You can even take over from me since I'm leaving soon" Bimpe could feel her heartbeat in her mouth. She felt like shouting or even crying, but Joke's words held her bounds.

Soon she gave in to the guys in the club after the incidence with Soji. She felt like a train had crushed her at first, but she soon got over it and became more interested than Joke and her crew.

Bimpe still maintained her brilliancy, but outside the school she was growing into a chain smoker and a commercial sex lady.

"If this is what it means to grow up, I will grow up and no one will take chances on me like my dad does to my mom" Bimpe gave a wry smile as she went over the school fence, this time alone.

Bimpe now despised holidays. She wished she could find an excuse to stay back in school or somewhere around the club house, but she couldn't have her way. Every holiday beckons her home to the never ending drama between her parents and the lack of attention she gets from them.

Bola, Bimpe's mum noticed so much changes in Bimpe "you've really changed a lot my dear. What have they been feeding you?" Bola asked curiously.

"Nothing special. I'm growing up. That's all!" Bimpe retort almost exclaiming.

Bimpe found it hard to accompany her mum to the shop. She would rather sit back at home and step out to walk around town after a while. Her mum felt concerned about Bimpe's new life, but was just too busy and easily distracted to talk to her child.

Her dad on the other hand only came home at night. Eats and heads to bed
"What a dysfunctional family" Bimpe often shrugs.

Back in school and happening. The brilliant girl in class and a bad girl at night. Bimpe soon got some more girls to join her clique. Nike her old time friend knew about her lifestyle, but all efforts to make Bimpe change was futile "I hope you won't regret this" Nike warned.

"There's nothing to regret in a life that is pleasing to you" Bimpe smiled as she watched Nike walk away
"I was once innocent like you anyway, not like I was bad from scratch. But am I even bad?"

Half way through Bimpe's second term in SS2, the school Matron had noticed quite a number of girls sneaking in and out of the school at night. The Matron set out a plan and all the girls were caught. Bimpe wasn't exempted.

They were given a month suspension after thorough punishment in the school.

"I said it!" Bimpe's mum exclaimed. "I knew there was something strange about you the last time you came home" but Bimpe feigned dumb as her mother yelled and cried.

"When you're tired, you will keep quiet" Bimpe muttered and smirked.

The night Bimpe got home was another war front for both parents. Bola accused Segun of being irresponsible "but you are the woman and it is your responsibility" Segun retorted angrily.

All the while they were arguing, Bimpe had carried her bag into her room and shut the door on herself "when you two are done, I'll be asleep" she said as she jumped into her bed
"I'm only bothered about one thing"
