ADEBIMPE episode 7

Adebimpe by O'nezer

Episode 7 (finale)

"But we have  little problem and I don't know how well you absorb it..." The Doctor said.

"What more problem again after these problems?" Segun cried out.

"It's not really a problem if you know how to handle it..."

"Stop beating about the bush, go straight to the point" Segun cut in.

"She tested HIV positive" the Doctor said with a calm, but yet serious look.

"HIV... what?" Segun's eyes shone.

"She must have contacted it from an infected sex partner" The Doctor added.

"My God!! I'm finished!!!" Segun exclaimed.

"Mr. Segun I must say I'm really disappointed in you, you had not taken good charge of your home, I can't count the number of times your wife came here for one treatment or the other as a result of your bullies, now here is your only daughter whom you threw out to the dangers of the world as a result of your uncontrollable attitude in your home." Dr. Gbade lamented.

Mr.  Segun sobbing and having his eyes filled with tears and regrets went out of the office and couldn't help but break the disheartening news to his wife where she was.
Mr. Segun failed in being able to console his wife who was already wailing and groaning in tears. Bola kept saying "I have destroyed my daughter's life, had I known I would have kept her back at home with me and have a proper watch over her, hmmm."

They sat at the reception for close to two hours weeping and groaning, they couldn't blame each other because they both  knew they were at fault and Bimpe wasn't at all. A nurse came to them and told them Bimpe was awake already.

"We have to go and see her, she needs us most now." Segun said.

"She would be mad at us" Bola replied worryingly.

"We just have to go her, she's all we've got" Segun explained.

The door that led to the ward where Bimpe laid was opened gently by the nurse that led Bimpe's parent to her. On sighting the two, Bimpe hissed and turned her face the other way of the bed ignoring them. She knew the doctor would have told them the whole truth, "so why are they here? Probably to scold her for all her wrongs" she thought.

Bola walked down to her in haste, sat on the bed and held Adebimpe's hand begging her and pleading for forgiveness for the failure of both Segun and herself in nurturing her in good ways and ignoring her emotional needs.. She pleaded and wept so bitterly alongside her husband promising Bimpe that from that day henceforth they would take up their responsibilities as good parents should do regardless of what people say or think.

After much begging and pleading, Adebimpe accepted their pleas and also apologised in tears for bringing disgrace to them, she was full of regrets and tears. The family reunited and waited for days for Adebimpe to be discharged.

Segun and Bola were bent on making wrong right, they didn't inform Bimpe of the HIV test results as she was too young to bear the shock. They only told her that the baby wasn't aborted and so she would have to go through a lot of treatments because of the attempts to abort the baby.

Bimpe's parents had requested the doctor not to inform her still but should continue treating her of the HIV as they believed she would be cured of it since it wasn't AIDS. Then when she was of age, she would be told.

Adebimpe was showered with love and care by her parents. Few months later she was delivered of a baby girl and tests were conducted on both her and her baby and to everyone's surprise they were both HIV negative. She wept and thanked her parents for not leaving her.

Adebimpe in no time was fit and was enrolled back to a near by secondary school where she finished from, wrote her SSCE and passed excellently.
