CORPER WALE Episode 1

Story by O'nezer

Episode 1

Wale Richardson emerged as one of the best students of his school. He was academically and intellectually smart. So smart his  intuition surpassed that of any other student.

He had a bonus attached to his portfolio and was perfectly shaped. One could describe him like the cute lover Solomon described in Songs of Solomon.

His brows which were perfectly carved to fit in with his oval shaped face alongside his full beard that was always averagely low were part factors that earned him admiration from both males and females alike. Girls flocked around him like fleas do faeces, because of his good looks and intelligence.

Wale had his fill with different girls and he had no problem settling the fight between those who were so into him. He never had feelings for any of them but just seized the opportunities presented to him. "They  gave themselves to me for free before. What is my isshhh with settling fights?" This was his line as  he mocked them all with his friends.

On the day of his convocation, his parents were proud like the lion would be after having a successful hunt. They invited guests and had a big party back at home. Everyone merried and  rejoiced with Mr and Mrs Richardson. Who wouldn't be happy where food is in abundance?

Time rolled by and Wale was posted to Abuja for his NYSC. Wale's dad was influential and had enough connections to have his son Wale in any State of his choice.

Being  the only son among three sisters gave him an higher advantage at home. He was apparently the only heir  and he had all he wanted and demanded for. Since he was intelligent, his parents pampered and favored him above others.

Wale had craved to serve in Abuja and when it became real, it felt like a different world entirely. He had gone on several trips but none of them have been completely  away from home like this. "I'm man enough" Wale cautioned his thoughts.
" I'd miss my babes over here though. I'll have to start over again" Wale said to his friends.
"Don't worry, you've got what it takes to win a girl at a wink" lied Gideon (his friend) jokingly.

Wale had a charming demeanor. It was his talisman and he never failed to use it as he never bothered about not having any girl he wanted at any point in time, but he had certain doubts at this time.

On the day Wale was to live home for Abuja, the Richardson's had a merry sour moment at the airport. His sisters were glad Wale was finally leaving home and going so far away. If he doesn't travel through air, it would be a very long trip for him
"South-west to North-central, the guy doesn't know anything yet" one of his sister whispered to the rest in the airport lounge.

The trip to Abuja was quick. Locating the orientation camp wasn't so hard for Wale save  the traffic jams in some areas. He raised his hand to salute the camp gate when he alighted from the taxi.
"Necessary evil, here we are at last to serve our Nation in suffering" Wale spoke aloud in a bitter tone. His displeasure for NYSC if tasted, might likely be gall.

Wale entered the camp on Wednesday and they were sworn in on Friday. After the swearing in, a welcome party was thrown that night. It was fun until the next day when parade commenced.

Waking up in the cold, in the early hours of the day, everyone grumbled and dragged their feet like a pregnant woman while dressing everyday.

The tight room and pressure from Soldiers including some of Wale's things that were missing with no one to point to, was a tale to write home for Wale. Everyday came with a louder hiss from Wale.
"Why not scrap this NYSC of a thing?"
